How much does Hailuo 2.3 cost per second?

Hailuo 2.3 is not priced per second. Providers sell it per video, so you have to convert. Divide the clip price by the clip length. At 768p the 6 second clip is $0.28, which is $0.047 per second. The 10 second clip is $0.56, which is $0.056 per second. The longer clip costs more per second, so for 30 seconds of footage five 6 second clips ($1.40) beat three 10 second clips ($1.68).

At 1080p the clip is $0.49 and MiniMax lists it for 6 seconds only, which is $0.082 per second. One reseller, wiro.ai, lists $0.49 for a 10 second 1080p clip too, which MiniMax's own documentation does not allow, so we price 1080p at 6 seconds. Hailuo 2.3 Fast is the cheaper tier and takes an image as input. A 6 second Fast clip at 768p is $0.19, or $0.032 per second.

If you searched for the Hailuo AI price, this article covers API prices from MiniMax and resellers. The consumer app has its own plans, which are not in our price list.

Documented features and limits

Hailuo figures come from MiniMax's video API reference and the fal endpoint pages. Kling figures come from the Kling 3.0 Standard page on fal and the Pro image to video page. Limits can differ by provider, so confirm them on the host you plan to use.

Two rows decide most projects. Kling makes clips up to 15 seconds and generates speech, so a 30 second video is two generations. Hailuo tops out at 10 seconds and the API has no audio setting, so a 30 second video is three to five clips and the voice is added later. Both are workable in an editor. Neither is free of seams where clips join.

Is Hailuo 2.3 still current, or is MiniMax H3 the new one?

MiniMax now treats Hailuo 2.3 as a legacy model. Its pricing page lists Hailuo 2.3 and 2.3 Fast under Legacy Models, and its video guide covers only MiniMax H3. The release notes date Hailuo 2.3 to October 28, 2025 and H3 to July 31, 2026. MiniMax documents H3 at 768P and 2K, 4 to 15 seconds per clip, with text, first and last frame images, and reference images, video and audio as inputs.

H3 is priced per second. The cheapest 768p rate in our list is $0.06 per second, so 30 seconds is $1.80. MiniMax H3 Lite is $0.04 per second at 768p, or $1.20 for 30 seconds, from MiniMax's own pricing page. For new work that is the line to test against Kling 3.0. Hailuo 2.3 remains on offer, but a legacy label means it can be retired.

These are price and feature calls. We have not benchmarked output quality, so run the same prompt on two models before you commit. The comparison with Seedance and Veo is in Veo 3.1 vs Kling 3.0 vs Seedance 2.0, and the cheapest way to call Kling is in cheapest way to run Kling 3.0.

How do you keep the test cheap?

  1. Start from a still. Approve one image, then animate it. Hailuo 2.3 Fast and Kling both start from an image.
  2. Test at the low tier. A 6 second Hailuo clip at 768p is $0.28. A 6 second Kling Standard clip with audio off is $0.504.
  3. Use 6 second clips on Hailuo. They cost less per second than 10 second clips at 768p.
  4. Render only the winner at 1080p.

Where Raytake fits

Raytake is a Mac app that makes short videos through a chat with an AI assistant. It shows each model's price before it runs, and it asks you to approve still frames before paying for video, so the testing above happens at the cheap end. The model picker lists these models with their prices.
